Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s in HR/Business preferred.
  • 1–3 years HR or administrative experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing, food production, warehouse, or high-volume environment experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with HRIS or timekeeping systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidential employee files and HR records.
  • Process changes, new-hire paperwork, terminations, transfers, and status updates.
  • Maintain HR information in HRIS and other HR systems.
  • Answer routine questions on policies, benefits, payroll, and timekeeping.
  • Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, and documentation.
  • Coordinate recruiting and onboarding for hourly roles.

**Temp to Hire **

We are seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Assistant to support the Human Resources function within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The HR Assistant will provide administrative and operational support across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee records, timekeeping, benefits, employee relations, and HR compliance.

The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, dependable, and comfortable working with both office personnel and hourly production employees. Experience in manufacturing, food production, distribution, or another high-volume environment is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Administration
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records.

  • Process employee changes, new-hire paperwork, terminations, transfers, and status updates.

  • Assist with maintaining employee information in the HRIS and other HR systems.

  • Respond to routine employee questions regarding company policies, procedures, benefits, payroll, and timekeeping.

  • Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other documentation as needed.

  • Ensure HR records and documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company requirements.

Recruiting & Onboarding
  • Assist with recruiting for hourly production, warehouse, sanitation, maintenance, and administrative positions.

  • Post job openings, review applications, schedule interviews, and communicate with candidates.

  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements such as background checks, drug screens, and employment eligibility documentation as applicable.

  • Coordinate new-hire orientation and onboarding activities.

  • Ensure new employees receive required policies, safety information, training materials, and company documentation.

Employee Support & Relations
  • Serve as a professional and approachable point of contact for employees and supervisors.

  • Assist HR leadership with employee relations matters and documentation.

  • Help communicate company policies, procedures, attendance expectations, and workplace standards.

  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.

  • Assist with employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and company events.

Timekeeping, Payroll & Benefits
  • Assist with reviewing employee timecards, attendance records, and timekeeping issues.

  • Support payroll preparation by identifying and resolving discrepancies.

  • Assist employees with basic benefits questions and enrollment processes.

  • Coordinate with payroll and benefits providers as needed.

Compliance & Safety Support
  • Assist with maintaining required employment and compliance documentation.

  • Help coordinate required employee training and certifications.

  • Maintain records related to workplace safety training and other required programs.

  • Support HR audits and compliance initiatives.

  • Follow company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of employee and company information.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • 1-3 years of HR or administrative experience preferred.

  • Experience in a manufacturing, food production, warehouse, distribution, or other high-volume environment is a plus.

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

  • Comfortable working with employees at all levels of an organization.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

  • Experience with an HRIS or timekeeping system is preferred.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Work Environment

This position supports a food manufacturing operation and may require regular interaction with employees and supervisors on the production floor. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

The position may require adherence to plant safety, food safety, sanitation, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other facility requirements.
