Job summary

Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting is seeking an experienced Human Resources & Administration Manager to cultivate an engaged, high-performing workplace and support the mission of public media.

You will lead day-to-day HR operations, from recruitment to retirement, serve as trusted advisor to leaders, and partner with the union while coordinating governance and Board documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • At least three years in a unionized environment.
  • Experience administering collective bargaining agreements.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience conducting employee relations investigations and resolving workplace issues.
  • Outstanding communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with HR information systems and workforce reporting.

Responsibilities

Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting, home to 91.3 WYEP and 90.5 WESA, is looking for an experienced Human Resources & Administration Manager to help cultivate an engaged, collaborative, and high-performing workplace while supporting the mission of independent public media.

You'll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, a resource for employees, a partner to our union, and a key contributor to the operational success of our organization. What You'll Do

As our Human Resources & Administration Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day HR operations while helping build an outstanding employee experience from recruitment through retirement.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a collaborative HR professional who combines strong technical knowledge with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • At least three years working in a unionized environment.
  • Experience administering collective bargaining agreements.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience conducting employee relations investigations and resolving workplace issues.
  • Outstanding communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with HR information systems and workforce reporting.
Preferred Qualifications

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
Experience working in nonprofit organizations, public media, higher education, or other mission-driven environments.

Work Environment

This position is based in our Pittsburgh office. Standard business hours are 9:00-5:00 Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work to support organizational events and Board meetings.

We provide competitive salaries in an affordable city. The minimum compensation for this position is $55,000, commensurate with experience and ability.
