This is a highly responsible position and will perform a wide variety of professional, administrative, analytical, and coordination duties in support of Human Resources (HR) functions and programs within Tacachale.
Interprets the State Personnel System Rules and assures that rules, regulations, policies and procedures are administered consistently and in an impartial manner.
Helps employees, supervisors, and department heads to settle work-related conflicts through advice, consultations, and recommendation.
Advises managers on disciplinary actions and performance related issues. Reviews and coordinates through completion all non-disciplinary and disciplinary actions to ensure compliance with established policies. Gathers and reviews documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of facts upon which the final determination is based. Schedules and attends Predetermination Conference meetings.
Manages unemployment compensation for Tacachale and serves as liaison between Tacachale and Department of Economic Opportunity. Serves as the HR representative in unemployment compensation appeals to uphold the Agency actions.
Manages the performance evaluation program. Ensures all performance evaluations (probationary, annual and interim) are received and posted timely in the People First system. Ensures any staff who receive below a “3” rating on a performance expectation has the supporting documentation and manages the Corrective Action Plan process.
Organizes and maintains Employee Relations files. Completes comprehensive review of employee personnel files, generates reports, and prepares correspondence as necessary.
Assists the State Office with internal investigation or other related complaint matters.
Provides back-up to other HR functions as directed or needed.
Greet and receive customers, answer calls, and direct them to the correct area, assist with records request, organize, sort and classify a high volume of incoming documents according to established procedures when covering the front desk.
Maintain files in the Agency’s electronic personnel file system.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
