Administration of treatments, medications, and other care which requires the expertise of a professional Registered Nurse. Confers closely with physicians whenever the condition of the individual warrants’ further assessment or intervention. Participates in crisis intervention to prevent hospitalization or re-hospitalization. Maintains adequate documentation in residential log daily, as needed in progress notes, and any other required documentation to provide clear communication to other staff. Provides oversight to other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants in providing nursing related functions. Observes and documents physical and behavioral response to medications.
Maintains and documents support staff’s competency as it relates to nursing delegated functions.
Conduct an initial assessment and provide appropriate treatment as soon as possible after being notified or becoming aware of an injury or possible injury. Complete Section II of the DDC Incident Report Form in accordance with IM process.
Performs related duties as assigned.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
