Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business admin, or related field.
  • 0–3 years of HR support or admin experience; construction/union environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws related to construction and field operations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate onboarding for construction field employees and union craft workers, including documentation, orientation scheduling, safety training coordination, and equipment access.
  • Support construction recruitment efforts, including job postings for field, union, and professional roles.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, ensuring confidentiality and compliance for a large, distributed construction workforce.
  • Assist with benefits administration, leave tracking, and respond to HR inquiries from field and office employees.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, training programs, and company events aligned with construction operations.
  • Monitor and help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including those impacting union labor and construction workforces.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports and workforce metrics related to hiring, onboarding, and retention.
  • Collaborate with operations, safety, payroll, and project teams to support HR process improvements across construction sites.
