Job summary

MMI Engineered Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Manager to support employees, partner with site leadership, and collaborate with our corporate HR team. This hands-on role covers employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate will bring strong HR knowledge, sound judgment, and a people-focused approach. This 100% onsite position offers opportunities to impact operations across multiple Michigan sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field or 5 years HR generalist experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Willingness to adjust schedule to support off shift employees as needed.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of employee benefits programs.
• Experience using HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and document employee relation investigations, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policy.
• Provide site support in FMLA, ADA, and OSHA recordkeeping and coordination.
• Guide managers through corrective actions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and conduct periodic HR audits.
• Serve as SME on HR policies, procedures, employment law, and best practices for employees, managers, and HR team.
• Provide on-site assistance in timekeeping and attendance programs.
• Collaborate with corporate HR to support recruitment, training and development, payroll and benefits administration.
• Coordinate office administration including visitor reception and events.
• Perform other duties to support site or corporate HR initiatives.

MMI Engineered Solutions is looking for a Human Resources Manager to support our employees, partner with site leadership, and work alongside our collaborative corporate HR team. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to manage a broad range of HR responsibilities, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong HR knowledge, sound judgment, and an adaptable, people-focused approach to succeed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and document employee relation investigations, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policy.
• Provide site support in FMLA, ADA, and OSHA recordkeeping and coordination.
• Guide managers through corrective actions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and conduct periodic HR audits.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on HR policies, procedures, employment law, and best practices, providing guidance to employees, manager, and HR team members.
• Provide on-site assistance in timekeeping and attendance programs.
• Collaborate with the corporate HR team to support recruitment, employee training and development, and payroll and benefit administration.
• Coordinate office administration, including visitor reception, customer visits, office supplies, and support for company events.
• Other duties as assigned to support site or corporate HR initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or five years of HR generalist experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Willingness and ability to adjust schedule to support off shift employees as needed.
• Proven ability to act with integrity and handle confidential information in a professional manner.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local employment law and regulations.
• Knowledge of employee benefit programs
• Experience using human resources information systems (HRIS).

Work environment and expectations:

• 100% onsite position in Saline, Michigan.
• Office environment with occasional time spent on the warehouse and manufacturing floor - adhering to all company safety polices and use of PPE while on production floor.
• Ability to occasionally travel for job fairs and to visit our Warren manufacturing facility.
