Job Title: Human Resources & International Workforce Programs Generalist

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: Human Resources Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY: The Human Resources & International Workforce Programs Generalist is responsible for performing a broad range of HR-related duties at a professional level and works closely with management to support organizational goals and initiatives. This position provides HR support with a focus on recruiting international employees, supporting the HR Manager with international programs, coordinating onboarding activities, ensuring I-9 and employment eligibility compliance, providing employee support, managing employee relations matters, and maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws. The Human Resources Generalist also assists with various HR initiatives, contributes to a positive employee experience, and performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

This is an exempt position. Hours may vary based on business needs and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process for H-2B, J-1, and

F-1 candidates, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer letters, ADP onboarding, E-Verify, new hire processing, and orientation support.

  • Ensures the accuracy of international employee records in ADP and facilitates the timely completion and submission of onboarding documentation to Payroll for seamless processing and compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with federal regulations, program requirements, and company policies related to international workforce programs.
  • Manages employees support services, including documentation, international staff experience letters, housing coordination, travel and transportation arrangements, reimbursement administration, and integration initiatives to ensure positive employee experience.
  • Manages the organization’s I-9 and E-Verify programs by maintaining accurate employee records, ensuring active and terminated employee files are kept current and compliant, conducting monthly audits to verify documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance, monitoring work authorization expirations, and supporting adherence to federal employment eligibility requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership on employee engagement initiatives including but not limited to employee events, wellness programs, reward & recognition programs, surveys, etc.
  • Resolve routine employee relations issues and complaints. Refers difficult or complex issues to HR leadership as needed.
  • Partner with HR leadership to coordinate, implement, and support training programs and employee development initiatives.
  • Develop, create, and distribute the bi-weekly employee newsletter and other internal communication materials to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with organizational initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records. Adheres to internal record-keeping requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and in accordance with HIPAA and data privacy laws.
  • Thorough knowledge of all human resource disciplines.
  • Understanding and knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of recruiting experience, preferably involving H-2B, J-1, or other international workforce programs.
  • Knowledge of H-2B, J-1, and F-1 visa programs, including program regulations, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding employment verification requirements, including Form I-9 and E-Verify processes.
  • Experience coordinating international recruitment activities and working with sponsoring agencies, government agencies, and immigration-related partners.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required; equivalent professional experience in human resources may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of human resource experience is preferred.
  • Human Resources Certification (HRCI-PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP) is preferred.
  • Experience in recruiting and benefits administration preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
