Job Title:Human Resources Generalist II
Position Summary:
The HR Generalist II supports the daily functions of the Human Resources department, including recruiting and interviewing staff, employee relations (union and non-union), investigations, administering pay, benefits, and Leave coordination with benefit specialists, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and supports a positive work environment for all staff and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and healthcare-specific labor laws.
- Coordinate recruitment recruiting efforts including posting jobs, screening applicants, Interviews, scheduling interviews, and applicable Healthcare background checks. Manage applicants, posting (s) via electronic systems.
- Prepare all offers, send applicable required new hire documents, schedule pre-employment, background checks and other related New Hire items.
- Coordinate and conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with healthcare regulations as well as Federal/State regulations.
- Respond to basic employee inquiries regarding benefit and policies, refer to specialists as needed, coordinate with specialists as needed.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, attendance, and training logs.
- Support employee relations by helping to resolve workplace issues and documenting and administering disciplinary actions.
- Support conflict resolution and disciplinary processes. Manage and participate in the Union grievance process.
- Promote employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Track performance evaluations.
- Process employee status changes, terminations, CHRC Updates and wage adjustments in the HRIS system as needed.
- Help coordinate employee engagement activities and recognition programs.
- Payroll or Backup Payroll, knowledgeable with payroll rules, assist with escalated issues/inquiries related to payroll preparation and various payroll benefit related administration as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare regulations.
- Support performance review processes and assist with disciplinary documentation.
- Participate in audits, quality assurance initiatives and HR reporting.
- Support training and development initiatives for staff.
- Respond to Unemployment claims timely.
- Special Projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Work experience equivalent to Human Resources in lieu of education may be considered.
- 2-4 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- 2-4 years’ Recruitment Experience required.
- Employee Relations/Investigation Experience required, non-union (union preferred).
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of employment law and best practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal skill, and team skills.
- Compassionate and professional demeanor when interacting with staff, care givers and residents.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of employment law (e.g., FMLA, FSLA, EOC) and HR best practices.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (PPT, XLS, Word, Teams) and HRIS systems required.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
