Job summary

AUTOKINITON is hiring a Human Resource Generalist II to join the Chicago plant’s HR team. In this full-time role, you will advise on HR policies, assist with recruiting, onboarding, and performance management, and maintain employee records in line with laws.

You will support disciplinary actions, track department metrics, and coordinate training, benefits, and leave processes while contributing to a positive work environment and community activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HR/Business or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years HR experience.
• SPHR or PHR certification preferred.

• Advise employees and managers on HR policies, workplace concerns, performance, attendance, and corrective action.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, staffing, and workforce planning.
• Assist salaried colleagues in preparing and documenting disciplinary action.
• Track and report department metrics on a weekly/ monthly/annual basis.
• Maintain employee records and ensure compliance and employment laws.
• Champion colleague relations “fun activities” (ex. Plant Picnic, Christmas Party) and community service activities (ex. Blood Drive, United Way, etc.).
• Coordinate performance reviews, training, development, benefits, and leave support.

This full-time role is a part of our Human Resource team and reports to the Human Resource Manager.

Required experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business (or equivalent experience). Minimum of three (3) years of experience in human resources.
• Specific knowledge in several HR processes and practices (labor relations, organizational development, leadership development, compensation, benefits, etc.)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
• SPHR or PHR certification preferred.
