About The Role
The Human Resources Generalist at RiverValley and Affiliates serves as the primary local HR support for our New Mexico Solutions division in Albuquerque, NM. Operating as part of the RVA Human Resources team, this full-time position plays a vital role in supporting employees and leadership through a variety of HR functions. The role involves managing employee relations, onboarding new hires, supporting recruitment efforts, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and maintaining accurate HR records within the HRIS system. The Human Resources Generalist is instrumental in fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring HR practices are consistent, timely, and aligned with organizational standards. Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of HR practices, employment law, and compliance requirements.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related fields.
- Prior experience in human resources, particularly within healthcare or behavioral health settings, is highly desirable.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred to better serve diverse community needs.
- Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and general office technology is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between agency locations are essential, along with the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
Responsibilities
- The Human Resources Generalist will undertake a broad spectrum of responsibilities to support the HR function within New Mexico Solutions. Key duties include providing local employee relations support by addressing workplace questions, policy interpretation, performance concerns, and conduct issues. The role involves coaching supervisors on employee relations matters, documentation, and consistent policy enforcement, ensuring confidentiality and proper record-keeping. The role also encompasses onboarding new employees, facilitating a smooth transition into the organization through communication, orientation, and follow-up to enhance early retention.
- Supporting recruitment efforts is another critical aspect, involving collaboration with recruiters and leadership to identify staffing needs, coordinate interviews, and provide insights into local market challenges. The HR Generalist will ensure HRIS data accuracy, maintain employee records, and assist with compliance documentation, training, and audit readiness. Additionally, the role includes serving as a point of contact for employee benefits, leave, accommodations, and workers’ compensation inquiries, guiding employees and managers through HR processes.
- Fostering employee engagement and a positive workplace culture is also a priority. The HR Generalist will participate in employee recognition, retention initiatives, and conduct stay interviews or listening sessions to gather feedback. Supporting training programs on workplace conduct, policies, and compliance will help promote a professional environment aligned with the organization’s mission and values. Continuous process improvement efforts will be encouraged to enhance HR workflows, communication, and documentation practices, ensuring operational efficiency and consistency across the organization.
