Job summary

Concordia Visiting Nurses Cabot, located in Cabot, Pennsylvania, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support employees and foster a positive workplace.

In this role you’ll lead recruitment/onboarding, administer HR programs, handle employee inquiries, participate in disciplinary actions, coordinate CPR/HSFA training, maintain compliance, conduct background checks, and maintain confidential employee files. Travel within the service area is required.

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
At least 3 years employee relations / HR experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license for travel within service area.

Responsibilities

Recruitment and Onboarding: interview, orientation, onboarding docs and benefits enrollment.
HR Program Administration: manage compensation, benefits, leave, discipline and safety.
Employee Inquiries: respond to applicants and staff; escalate issues as needed.
Disciplinary Processes: assist meetings, investigations and terminations per policy.
Training Coordination: CPR/HSFA training scheduling and tracking.
Compliance Tracking: maintain licenses, certifications and health tests; notify expirations.
Background Checks: conduct reference and background verifications.
File Maintenance: keep confidential electronic and paper employee files.

What we’re looking for in a Human Resources Generalist:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
Prior work experience of at least three (3) years employee relations / human resources
Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel programs
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Reliable, independent means of transportation to travel within the company’s service area. Must have a valid driver’s license and must drive a car with at least the state minimum required insurance coverage.

What you’ll do as a Human Resources Generalist:

Recruitment and Onboarding: Conduct job interviews, facilitate new hire orientation, maintain and update new hire documentation, and assist with the onboarding process, including employee badge processing and benefits enrollment.
HR Program Administration: Execute and administer various human resource programs related to compensation, benefits, leave of absence, disciplinary actions, disputes, performance management, and occupational health and safety.
Employee Inquiries: Address employment-related inquiries from job applicants, employees, and supervisors, collaborating with management on complex or sensitive issues.
Disciplinary Processes: Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
Training Coordination: Manage the CPR/Heart-Saver First Aid (HSFA) program, including scheduling classes, tracking certification, and handling related invoices.
Compliance Tracking: Update tracking systems with employee requirements such as licenses, certifications, and health tests, and notify employees of upcoming expirations.
Background Checks: Conduct thorough reference checks, criminal background checks, and other necessary verifications for new hires.
File Maintenance: Maintain organized employee files in both electronic and paper formats, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in employment law and talent management.
