Job summary

Spring River Rehabilitation & Care Center in Roswell, NM is seeking an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to lead all HR functions within our skilled nursing facility. You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, payroll coordination, performance management, retention initiatives, and workforce development to foster a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources leadership experience, preferably in skilled nursing, long-term care, healthcare, or post-acute care
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws, HR best practices, and long-term care regulations
  • Experience with payroll processing, HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, investigations, performance management, and compliance practices
  • Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day HR operations for the facility
  • Coordinate recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and orientation for all new employees
  • Develop and maintain recruiting partnerships with schools, workforce agencies, job fairs, and community organizations
  • Maintain accurate employee personnel files, licensure records, I-9 documentation, and compliance files
  • Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation, mandatory education, and annual compliance training
  • Process and audit payroll, timekeeping, PTO, attendance, and employee status changes for accuracy
  • Monitor staffing levels, overtime utilization, turnover, vacancy rates, and labor trends while partnering with department leaders to improve workforce performance
  • Coach department managers on employee relations, performance management, attendance, corrective action, investigations, and conflict resolution
  • Coordinate employee recognition, engagement, retention, and appreciation initiatives to strengthen workplace culture
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, CMS, OSHA, EEOC, FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, unemployment, and company employment policies
  • Assist leadership with workplace investigations, employee complaints, and disciplinary actions while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
  • Prepare HR reports, staffing metrics, turnover reports, recruitment data, and labor analytics for the Administrator and Regional Human Resources Director
  • Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, occupational health requirements, and pre-employment processes
  • Maintain compliance with mandatory licensure, certifications, health screenings, and continuing education requirements
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings and support survey readiness related to Human Resources compliance
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment that reflects the organization's mission and core values

Position Overview (Human Resources Coordinator)

Spring River Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to lead all human resources functions within our skilled nursing facility. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, payroll coordination, performance management, retention initiatives, and workforce development while fostering a positive and engaging workplace culture.

The Human Resources Director partners closely with the Administrator, Director of Nursing, department leaders, and Regional Human Resources Director to ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements while supporting the facility's operational and staffing goals.

Key Responsibilities
