Job Title: Human Resource Consultant 1 (HRC1) Tumwater

Location: Thurston County - Tumwater, WA (Hybrid with expectations to be in the office as needed)

Salary: $4,093.00 - $5,501.00 Monthly

We are seeking a talented HRC1 to join our collaborative team, embodying DCYF's core values of inclusion, respect, integrity, compassion, and transparency. Your work will support the agency's vision of helping all Washington's children and youth thrive. The role involves providing HR guidance to managers and staff, managing personnel transactions, conducting orientations, and supporting HR processes, under supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with staff on HR procedures, policies, and guidelines.
  • Manage personnel and payroll transactions.
  • Lead new employee orientation sessions.
  • Guide management on performance and attendance issues.
  • Assist with protective leave options and document completion.
  • Respond to inquiries from employees, managers, and the public.
  • Support position allocations and utilize multiple system platforms.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of experience in an office or HR setting, or relevant education and experience totaling four (4) years.
  • Education in business, public administration, HR, social sciences, or related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR certifications such as SHRM-CP/SCP, S/PHR.
  • Experience providing HR consultation/support within government.
  • Experience with HRMS and NeoGov.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
