Job summary

Renewal by Andersen of Florida is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to support day-to-day HR operations, onboarding, and employee relations. This role creates a positive employee experience by ensuring timely onboarding, benefits overview, and open communication.

You will verify employment eligibility, manage onboarding in the HRIS, conduct I-9 verification, and help update job descriptions and the company directory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of customer service and administrative experience is needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, plus public speaking

Responsibilities

Hourly Rate: $20hr - $22hr

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Full Time) 7:30AM – 4:30PM

The Human Resources Assistant helps with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources department. This role is responsible for creating a positive employee experience by helping team members feel engaged, supported, and valued within the organization. The HR Assistant assists with a variety of human resources functions, including onboarding, orientation, HRIS administration, employee relations, organizational development, employment processes, and general HR administration.

  • Oversee the onboarding process for all new hires, consisting of verifying employment eligibility, background checks, pre-employment drug testing, motor vehicle record checks, and any other testing or requirements specific to the position being filled as directed.
  • Help new hires complete onboarding in the HRIS and complete employer sections.
  • Make welcome calls to new hires and follow up with them throughout the onboarding process.
  • Virtually verify I-9 documentation in accordance with USCIS guidelines.
  • Present orientation for new hires, including explaining employee benefits, company policies, employee handbooks, reporting requirements, etc.
  • Continually look to improve the onboarding experience. Develop and implement changes to the onboarding process including the application, onboarding paperwork, screenings, orientation, and new hire materials.
  • Work with managers to find new and innovative ways to provide a delightful onboarding experience throughout the new hire’s first 365 days.
  • Set up employee file in HRIS for new employees: share documents, enter EEO data, configure time & labor settings, update directory, enter company property info, and configure pay setup.
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Maintain all employee files in the HRIS; ensure all relevant documents are uploaded.
  • Assist in creating and updating job descriptions.
  • Maintain company directory with current phone numbers, email addresses, and pictures.
  • Meet with employees and managers in accordance with our open-door policy.
  • Assist in facilitating company-wide and new-hire training.
  • Create and send out surveys: employee experience survey, exit interview, training survey, etc.
  • Stay informed with law changes and best practices in human resources management.
  • Assist the HR Manager with various research projects and/or special projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field is a Plus
  • At least 1-2yrs of Customer Service & Administrative Experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as Public Speaking Skills.
  • Ability to focus and stay on-task in a high-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) & Apple IOS Products
  • Proficient With or the Ability to Quickly Learn Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Ability to Type at Least 50-60 Words Per Minute
  • Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check
