Overview

Join the HJF Team!

HJF is seeking a Human Performance Optimization (HPO) Training and Curriculum Development Lead Advisor to lead the development and implementation of the Army's Holistic Health and Fitness Advisor (H2F-A) program. This role aims to bridge scientific research in holistic health and fitness with public knowledge, enhancing health, performance, and well-being.

The Lead Advisor will oversee a team of experts to create curricula across various domains including physical, mental, sleep, spiritual, nutritional readiness, behavior change, and resource management. They will collaborate with stakeholders to maximize college credit opportunities, monitor project progress, and deliver effective HPO training.

HJF, a nonprofit organization founded in 1983, advances military medicine by supporting scientific programs benefiting military and civilian communities. This position supports the Consortium for Health and Military Performance (CHAMP) under the Uniformed Services University, working with the HPRC Team to develop curricula for the H2F-A program.

Note: The incumbent must have resided in the US for at least three of the past five years.

Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with stakeholders to define tasks and KSAs for curriculum development, aligning initiatives with organizational goals and current research.
  2. Supervise a team to develop curricula covering physical, mental, sleep, spiritual, nutritional readiness, behavior change, and resource management.
  3. Design and deliver innovative in-person and virtual HPO training, incorporating evidence-based practices and ensuring content adaptability and relevance.
  4. Develop syllabi and learning objectives to produce certifiable and college-credit-eligible courses.
  5. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in holistic health and human performance, leading training and curriculum evaluation.
  6. Assist in securing funding, preparing statements of work, budgets, and engaging with clients.
  7. Build relationships with DoD stakeholders to inform material creation and increase awareness of CHAMP resources.
  8. Oversee virtual training systems, ensuring quality and performance feedback.
  9. Document project scope, objectives, schedules, and milestones; produce reports.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned, including participation in training.
Supervisory Responsibilities

May recommend hiring, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree required; Doctoral preferred, in leadership, instructional design, public health, positive psychology, or related fields.
  • Minimum 9-10 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong planning and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of organizational objectives, federal budget processes, and office automation.
  • Experience with college course development, military stakeholders, or holistic health is preferred.
  • Military experience or stakeholder familiarity is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 Public Trust/CAC clearance.
Physical Capabilities
  • Lift materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Prolonged sitting or standing at a computer.
Work Environment
  • 100% remote with 30% travel.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $100,500 - $117,000, based on experience and education. Benefits include health coverage, retirement plans, and more.

Additional Information

Employment contingent on background checks. Qualifications considered as equivalents require prior approval from the Chief Human Resources Officer.
