HJF is seeking a Human Performance Optimization (HPO) Training and Curriculum Development Lead Advisor to lead the successful completion of key deliverables and stated objectives to initially develop and stand up the Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness Advisor (H2F-A) program. The overall goal of this project is to bridge the gap between holistic health and fitness scientific research and the general public's knowledge and ability to optimize their health, performance, and well-being.


The Human Performance Optimization (HPO) Training and Curriculum Development Lead Advisor will lead a team of subject matter experts to develop and stand-up curriculum that will span the domains of physical readiness, mental readiness, sleep readiness, spiritual readiness, nutritional readiness, behavior change, integration, and resource management. They will work with stakeholders to maximize the attainment of college-level credits. They will coordinate and monitor the status of work performed. They will develop, deliver, and evaluate HPO training.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike.Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

This position will be in support of the Consortium for Health and Military Performance (CHAMP) under the Uniformed Services University Department of Military Emergency Medicine. They will be working with the Human Performance Resources by Champ (HPRC) Team to develop and stand-up curriculum for the Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness Advisor (H2F-A) program.

Note: This site requires that the incumbent has lived in the US for three out of the past five years.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to codify Total Task Inventory (TTI) and KSAs (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) for curriculum development and training. Align training initiatives with organizational objectives, leveraging the latest research and best practices in human performance, health, and wellness to ensure impactful outcomes and alignment with current and future operational demands.
  • Supervise a team of subject matter experts to develop and implement a curriculum that spans the domains of physical readiness, mental readiness, sleep readiness, spiritual readiness, nutritional readiness, behavior change, integration, and resource management.
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of innovative HPO training, both in-person and virtual. Incorporate evidence-based research and emerging trends in human performance, health, and cognitive science into curriculum design. Ensure training content is adaptive to diverse learning styles. Regularly review and update training materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Lead instructional design efforts to develop syllabi and learning objectives for various audiences, to ensure a curriculum and training will produce usable courses and learning products that are certifiable by TRADOC standards and eligible to receive college credit.
  • Serve as a holistic health and human performance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop and lead training, develop educational resources, and evaluate curriculum.
  • Assists with obtaining additional funding and is for writing statements of work, preparing the budget, and working with PI to engage with prospective clients.
  • Develops and sustains relationships with DoD stakeholders (Service Members, health care and performance providers, military leaders, etc.) to inform the creation and dissemination of materials. Engages in outreach efforts to increase the DoD and professional communities’ awareness of CHAMP’s resources.
  • Oversee virtual training and learning management systems' design, development, and delivery. Provides quality control feedback to clients and other staff members on training performance.
  • Document project scope and plan, confirming objectives, technologies, schedules, milestones, and deadlines, and available resources with key stakeholders. Produce and distribute project status reports, documents, and annual reports.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assigned Lead: May recommend the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; provide input on employee performance evaluations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree required (leadership, instructional design, public health, positive psychology, holistic Health and human performanceor related field of study); Doctoral Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 9-10 years experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others, identify and resolve problems, and deliver results as a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, proposal/project tracking, and data analysis software.
  • Knowledge of organizational objectives, the federal budget process, and office automation.
  • Familiarity with college course development, military stakeholders, and or holistic health is preferred.
  • Military or military stakeholder expertise preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 Public Trust/CAC.

Physical Capabilities

  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Work Environment

  • This position is 100% remote. 30% travel required.

Compensation

  • The annual pay range for this position is $100,500-$117,000. Actual salarywill be determined based on experience, education, etc.
