Job summary

SciTec, a DoD‑focused contractor, seeks a Systems Engineer specializing in human factors and software user interfaces for the GBRD modernization program. You will translate mission needs into system requirements, define UI workflows, and guide display integration within a modern architecture.

Lead collaboration with radar teams, MBSE modelers, UI/UX designers, and government stakeholders to deliver clear, actionable displays while ensuring cybersecurity and reliability in DoD environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Human‑Systems Integration, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for complex software systems, sensor/mission systems, or operator‑facing interfaces.
  • Experience writing and managing system and interface requirements for user interfaces or mission displays.
  • Familiarity with radar systems, real‑time data flows, alerting systems, or high‑bandwidth operational environments.
  • Experience with MBSE practices, SysML, or model‑based requirement traceability.
  • Ability to collaborate with UI/UX designers and software teams to translate mission needs into display functionality.
  • Understanding of operator workflows, human‑factors considerations, and mission‑focused interface design.
  • Strong communication skills for cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (active preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate mission human factors requirements and stakeholder needs.
  • Define system and subsystem requirements for user interfaces, visualizations, alerting, data‑flow, and workflows.
  • Define operational UI concepts, display behaviors, and functional flows aligned with radar use cases.
  • Create architectures and interfaces for data flows between operator interfaces and hardware/software.
  • Ensure workstation designs meet site space and power constraints and DoD cybersecurity standards.
  • Use SysML to develop engineering artifacts and maintain traceability from needs to requirements.
  • Maintain configuration control of display‑system requirements, diagrams, and ICDs.
  • Participate in system integration testing, mission scenario validation, and usability assessments.
  • Collaborate with radar, MBSE, UI/UX, backend teams to ensure cohesive behavior.
