Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory is seeking a Human Factors Engineer to join the Health and Human-Machine Systems Group. You will help design autonomous solutions for national challenges, integrating systems, humans, and operations to achieve mission outcomes.

You will contribute across global health, special operations, cybersecurity, and other mission-focused domains, collaborating with government sponsors and stakeholders, and supporting system usability and task analysis as part of

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Factors Engineering, Human Systems Integration, Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with User-Centered Design (UCD), UX, and UI design.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers and experts to advance human-system design and cognitive engineering.
  • Analyze requirements, tasks, workflows and workload modelling for systems.
  • Develop rapid prototypes using UCD/UX/UI methods and user feedback.
  • Capture human requirements and performance data from field tests and operators.
  • Support documentation and presentation of system usability and human factors artifacts.
