Job summary

Saronic Technologies seeks a Manufacturing Engineer - Structural Detail Planning to define how a vessel's structure is built, from parts to the erected hull. You will establish build strategy, breakdown locations, and detailed work instructions to govern fabrication and assembly.

In this role you will collaborate with design engineering, piping, electrical, HVAC, outfitting planning, and production teams to ensure sequencing is feasible and that foundations and penetrations are ready when

Qualifications

Hands-on shipyard structural trades experience or equivalent planning background.
Understanding of steel fabrication methods and welding sequence.
Knowledge of ship construction hierarchy and breakdown driven by capacity.
Ability to read structural drawings, 3D models, midship sections, shell expansions.
Strong written communication for clear work instructions.

Responsibilities

Define build strategy by breaking hull into parts, panels, units, blocks and hull.
Specify breakdown locations based on facility and crane capacity.
Plan fit-up, alignment and weld sequence for each assembly level.
Develop fabrication and erection work instructions for panel lines and blocks.
Sequence erection joints and welds to maintain hull fairness.
Plan temporary supports and fairing aids during assembly.
Coordinate secondary structure installation with other trades.
Support first-article builds and refine instructions from floor feedback.
