Job summary

Thea Energy seeks a Director - HTS Magnet Engineering to lead the design, build, and test of high temperature superconducting magnets for its planar coil stellarator program. You will own the magnet engineering roadmap end-to-end, manage engineering managers, and align development with company milestones while expanding organizational capability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years engineering experience with magnets, cryogenics, vacuum systems, or transformer design.
• Experience leading engineering managers and multi-disciplinary technical teams.
• Fluency in CAD and Multiphysics simulation to review and challenge analyses.
• Experience owning vendor and supply chain relationships for complex, custom hardware.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy, roadmap, and execution of the HTS magnet engineering program for planar coil stellarator systems.
• Lead and scale a multi-level organization of engineers and managers.
• Define magnet specifications, and oversee testing strategies and production transitions.
• Manage vendor/supply chain relationships and key qualification requirements.
