Job summary

ProFrac Services in Longview, Texas is seeking a Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) professional to review work environments and design programs to control and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological hazards.

You will supervise HSSE personnel, oversee investigations, conduct safety training, and collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure OSHA and DOT compliance and environmental safety across operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • HSSE related experience, Oil and Gas and/or Manufacturing background, DOT experience, or professional HSE certifications.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise other HSSE personnel.
  • Recommend measures to protect workers from hazardous methods, processes, or materials.
  • Oversee accident investigations to identify causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Inspect ventilation, lighting, and other conditions affecting health and comfort.
  • Develop and maintain hygiene programs (noise surveys, atmosphere monitoring, ventilation surveys, asbestos plans).
  • Inspect and evaluate workplaces to ensure safety compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct safety training and demonstrate safety equipment usage.
  • Provide new-employee health and safety orientations and materials.
  • Work with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to uphold honest business practices and industry leadership.
  • Establish HSSE processes for the assigned district.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Job description

Responsible for assisting with reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. Will conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals and the environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise other HSSE personnel.

  • Assist with Recommending measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.

  • Oversee accident investigations to assure being done properly, to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.

  • Investigate the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions that could affect employee health, comfort, or performance.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of hygiene programs such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, ventilation surveys, and asbestos management plans.

  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.

  • Conduct safety training and education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.

  • Provide new-employee health and safety orientations and develop materials for these presentations.

  • Work with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Establish relationships that display honest business tactics with reporting agencies and display ProFrac as a leader in the industry.

  • Ability to establish HSSE processes for the assigned district.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.

  • HSSE related experience, Oil and Gas and/or Manufacturing background, DOT experience, or any professional HSE certifications.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

  • Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.

  • Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics, and mechanical, electrical, atomic and sub- atomic structures and processes.

  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

  • Knowledge of OSHA accident/injury recording, Spill reportable quantities, DOT Transportation rules and regulations preferred.

  • Continuing education thru company or other resources.

  • Sensitive to confidential information.

  • Travel may be required.

  • Must work independently and as a member of team.

Mental and Physical Requirements
  • Able to read, speak and write English.

  • Ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to achieve job functions.

  • Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload.

  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.

  • Communication – verbal & written communication, communication with personnel and vendors.

  • Seeing - able to see the computer screen with possible long hours of computer usage at times.

  • Climbing - able to go up and down stairs.

  • Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week dependent on workload.

  • Position will require (24) twenty-four hours availability, with (7) seven day weeks when workload requires, with time off scheduled per current workload.

  • Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards with communication skills to apply to company’s activities.

  • Providing guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems, or process-related topics.

  • Wear Common Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection, Hard Hats, or Life Jackets.

  • Strong work ethics of integrity and honesty striving for excellence in all activities employing accompanying communication.

  • Dependability, reliability, fulfilling responsibilities.
