Hitachi Energy offers a 12-week Summer Internship in Jefferson City, MO, in-person at our factory. This paid program exposes students to Health, Safety, and Environmental roles and meaningful projects across our U.S. locations.

Interns join a learning-focused team and will collaborate on ergonomic, hazard, and sustainability initiatives while building a diverse professional network, with opportunities to contribute to real-world projects and growth.

Qualifications

• Obtaining a bachelor's or master's degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, HSE Management, Health Science or Health Education, Nursing.
• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Ability to work across cultures.
• Good conceptual and analytical thinking.
• Effective working within a team.
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ergonomic risk reduction program and hearing conservation initiatives.
• Review job hazard risk assessments and related work instructions; update as needed and create risk summaries.
• Product life-cycle analysis, waste stream mapping, projects for reuse and recirculation of resources.
• Assisting with environmental, health, safety, and sustainability projects to support Hitachi Energy Carbon 2030 goals.
