Dover Precision Components is seeking an HSE Specialist to provide full-time health, safety and environmental support for operations. You will ensure OSHA compliance and drive the Safety Always mission through risk assessments and program development.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing HSE, knowledge of OSHA, EPA and DOT standards, and a proactive approach to hazard control and incident investigations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive HSE experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and DOT compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to implement and lead impactful HSE programs.
  • High level of technical expertise with focus on continuous process improvement while ensuring safety.
  • Union environment experience is a plus; strong presentation and influential skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance reviews and risk assessments to support HSE program management.
  • Develop controls for identified hazards and coordinate implementation.
  • Measure effectiveness of hazard control systems and recommend changes.
  • Coordinate with Global HSE on hazardous material procedures and policies.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The HSE Specialist will provide full-time health, safety and environmental support for operations and will ensure that all practices follow OSHA regulatory requirements and Company policy. In this role, you will support the development and coordination of programs in line with our Safety Always mission.

  • Perform compliance reviews, general risk assessments, JSA and other safety assessments to support HSE program management.
  • Develop controls for identified hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from the result of hazard assessment.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Coordinate with Global HSE team on development and implementation of hazardous material procedure and policies.
  • Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation ensuring compliance of applicable laws and regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Investigate near misses and High Potential Incidents (HPI) to drive improvement in our health and safety management.
  • Develop and conduct local HSE meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.
  • Communicate HSE programs, policies, and procedures as needed, providing advice and assistance to managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure that all HSE programs are implemented and effective.
  • Evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance.
  • Ensure that contractors/vendors working on site are in compliance with Dover Precision Components’ policies and safety requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining Emergency Action Plans and Procedures.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • 3+ years of progressive HSE experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and DOT compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to implement and lead impactful HSE programs.
  • Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety.
  • ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING/ PREFERENCES Prior work within a union environment is a plus. Strong presentation and influential skills. Experience in similar manufacturing settings- made to order precision, manufactured components.
  • BS/BA degree in business (preferred).

This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
