Job summary

NOV is seeking an experienced HSE Specialist based in Casper, WY, to safeguard the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our operations. You will support Downhole Tools and Reed Hycalog facilities, driving risk mitigation and promoting safe work practices through our HSE Management System.

You will lead incident investigations, coordinate with site leadership, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years in a similar HSE role, ideally in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with facility personnel to understand HSE needs and challenges.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
  • Promote safe work practices and provide training as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant HSE regulations and standards.
  • Implement and monitor HSE programs and initiatives.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with facility management to develop and improve HSE processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of HSE activities.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on HSE performance to management.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging HSE trends.

  • Proficiency in using HSE management software and data analysis tools.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is an asset.
  • Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
