Job summary

West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. seeks a Mgr, Health Safety & Environment at the Walker, MI site to lead the development and enforcement of HSE programs and ensure regulatory compliance across operations.

The role reports to the site Director of Operations and requires 10+ years in manufacturing with strong OSHA knowledge and a proven ability to drive safety improvements in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing with 8+ years in HSE leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, Federal, State and local safety regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills; able to interface with all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to lead safety programs and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement proactive Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) programs and processes to prevent incidents.
• Lead incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, trends and sharing best practices.
• Manage environmental permit requirements including documentation and recordkeeping.
• Oversee the site safety committee, set goals and drive safety performance.
• Develop HSE training needs, reviews and equipment assessments; ensure regulatory compliance metrics.
• Support turnover for new equipment or plant process changes from the HSE perspective.
• Create contractor safety guidelines and ensure adherence; participate in key HSE initiatives.
