Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking an experienced HSE Manager for the Federal Building project in Havelock, NC. You will develop and implement site-specific EHS plans and coordinate safety programs with project teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities include audits, investigations, training, and weekly EHS updates to leadership. Requires CHST certification and 5+ years in construction EHS; travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction EHS field.
  • Excellent communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time.
  • Some travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement site-specific EHS plans with the Project Manager and team.
  • Coordinate subcontractor EHS protocols and audits to minimize risk and incidents.
  • Conduct on-site EHS audits and inspections for regulatory compliance.
  • Perform accident investigations and incident reporting.
  • Advise on Industrial Hygiene protocols and environmental monitoring.
  • Administer the Drug-Free Workplace Policy and testing programs.
  • Provide EHS training to company personnel, including new hire orientation.
  • Provide weekly EHS updates to EHS leadership.
