Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking an HSE Manager for a Federal Building project in Havelock, NC. You will develop and implement site-specific EHS plans, coordinate subcontractor safety protocols, conduct audits, and lead accident investigations while ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.

You will also train personnel, manage the Drug-Free Workplace Program, and report weekly updates to EHS leadership. Travel to project sites is required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management or equivalent.
• CHST certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction EHS field.
• Excellent communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time.
• Knowledge of regulations and standards as well as hazard recognition and injury management skills.
• Some travel required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an effective site-specific EHS plan in coordination with Project Manager and management.
• Coordinate subcontractor EHS protocols and audits; manage losses from injuries or property damages.
• Conduct quarterly on-site EHS audits and ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Perform accident investigations and incident reporting for PM review.
• Escort injured employees for treatment and ensure EHS protocols are followed.
• Advise on Industrial Hygiene protocols and perform Environmental Monitoring.
• Administer the Drug-Free Workplace Policy and testing processes.
• Provide EHS training and orientation for new hires.
• Administer the corporate SPAT process on projects.
• Deliver weekly EHS updates to EHS Leadership.
