Job summary

Cockram Construction is seeking a Safety Manager to join our Cleveland, OH team and lead safety initiatives across projects nationwide. You will promote a safe environment, ensure OSHA compliance, and drive continuous improvement in safety practices.

The role requires conducting inspections, developing programs, investigating incidents, training employees, and collaborating with production, engineering and maintenance to embed safety into all operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in OSH or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety management role.
  • CSP or OSHA 500 certification (preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant safety standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards.
  • Develop and maintain safety programs aligned with OSHA standards.
  • Investigate safety incidents and track corrective actions.
  • Provide safety training on PPE, emergency procedures, and hazard communication.
  • Maintain safety documentation (accident reports, SDS, training records).
  • Foster a positive safety culture and encourage participation.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance to integrate safety.
  • Respond to emergencies and accidents to protect staff and facility.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and recommend improvements.
  • Overnight shifts may be required to ensure safety coverage.

In the US, our staff provide services on client sites coast to coast with a focus in the Pharmaceutical / Bio-Tech and Themed/Attraction industries.

We currently have an opening for a Safety Manager to join our team in Cleveland, OH. In this critical role, you will be responsible for promoting a safe and healthy work environment. You will ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies, and proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs aligned with industry best practices and OSHA standards.
  • Investigate safety incidents, develop corrective action plans, and track trends to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide safety training and education to employees on a variety of topics, including personal protective equipment (PPE) use, emergency procedures, and hazard communication.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, including accident reports, safety data sheets (SDS), and training records.
  • Foster a positive safety culture by promoting safe work practices and encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and maintenance, to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of operations.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time (40 hours per week) with some required overnight shifts.
