Job summary

Jefferson-Lewis BOCES seeks a part-time instructor to deliver High School Equivalency (HSE) instruction to eligible adult students at the Lewis County Extension Center in Lowville, NY. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and certification.

The role requires entering GED participation data and reporting to the Assistant Director for Career & Technical and Adult Education programs. Schedule is 18 hours/week, Mon/Wed/Fri 8:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a current New York State Teaching certificate or Job Skills Training Instructor - Adult Education Certificate.
• Assess, prescribe and deliver High School Equivalency (HSE) instruction to eligible adult students and prepare them for successful completion of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Enter data related to GED participation.
• Reports to the Assistant Director for Career & Technical and Adult Education programs.

Job description

LOCATION:Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, with initial assignment at Lewis County Extension Center, Lowville, New York

STARTING DATE: As soon as possible

SCHEDULE:18 hours/week, possibly up to 30 hours/week, based on program need. Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 3 days per week.

COMPENSATION: Salary commensurate with experience and certification
