Placements24 is seeking a qualified HSE Advisor to support operations near Paarl in the Oil & Gas sector. You will develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, perform risk assessments, and foster a proactive safety culture across all activities.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, with at least 5 years of HSE experience in hazardous environments. Knowledge of South African legislation and CSP or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent entity within the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a qualified HSE Advisor to support their operations near Paarl. This role is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental protection across all company activities. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a proactive safety culture. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and a passion for creating a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive HSE management systems and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to all levels of personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HSE Advisor, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry or similar hazardous environments.
• In-depth knowledge of South African HSE legislation and industry standards.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
• Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and developing safe work procedures.
