Job summary

Morrison Energy is seeking an Offshore HSE Coordinator to ensure workplaces operate safely, comply with regulations, and minimize environmental impact. This role serves as the central point of contact for HSE processes and asset administration on offshore assets.

Key responsibilities include promoting safety culture with vessel leadership, compiling and presenting safety observations, coordinating hazard hunts, and facilitating HSE training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of safety coordination experience offshore, construction, or oil & gas.
  • Familiarity with offshore systems, subsea technology, and asset integrity management.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and advance the safety culture on each assigned asset.
  • Compile reports, provide observations to vessel leadership, and communicate safety observations.
  • Prepare agendas, document minutes, and facilitate HSE Site Committee meetings.
  • Develop hazard hunt schedules, assign personnel, and document findings.
  • Submit JSA to management, coach crew members to improve JSA process.
  • Provide feedback to crew and mentor on JSA processes.
  • Assist leadership in preparing reports based on incidents and lessons learned.
  • Facilitate HSE training for crew members as directed by management.
  • Compile weekly leading/trailing indicators into HPIR reports for vessel leadership review.

Position Overview

The function of the position is to ensure that workplaces operate safely, comply with regulations, and minimize environmental impact. This position also serves as the central point of contact for HSE processes and asset administration serving as an impartial onsite resource, helping to strengthen a positive safety culture across the asset.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Work in conjunction with the Vessel Superintendent, Captain and Dive Supervisor to promote

  • Compile reports, make recommendations, and communicate observations or concerns to vessel leadership.

  • Collect, track and trend the observation cards written by the crew members and provide the Vessel Leadership with a ZAPP Card trending chart to be addressed in the pre‑shift safety meetings.
  • Prepare the agenda, document the minutes, and facilitate HSE Site Committee meetings.
  • Develop and coordinate hazard hunt schedules, assign personnel, identify target areas, and document, track and report findings.
  • Submit Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to Management for desktop audits; provide feedback and coach crew members to improve JSA process.
  • Provide feedback to the crew, coach and mentor crew members to enhance the JSA process on the asset.
  • Assist the vessel leadership in preparing and submitting reports based on findings of incidents that may occur. Share lessons learned with crew members.
  • Facilitate HSE training to crew members as needed or directed by management.
  • Tally the weekly total of all leading and trailing indicators into the CMC HPIR report. Have the vessel leadership review the report and submit to the intended recipients.
  • Perform Administrative/Clerical functions including Daily Field Reports (DFR), time sheets, dive logs, Personnel on Board (POB), customer request, answer phones, VHF Radio and requisitions.
Job Skills & Education
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in safety coordination in offshore, construction, or oil & gas.
  • Familiarity with offshore systems, subsea technology, and asset integrity management.
