Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Coordinator to coordinate evaluation and preparation for Hematopoietic Stem Cell transplantation, cellular therapies, and long-term post-treatment care. You will work across outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and community partners to ensure continuity of care and serve as a resource to patients, families, and the care team.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Two (2) years of clinical RN experience with acute and chronically ill adults/children required.
• Experience coordinating complex transplant/cellular therapy care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate autologous and allogeneic HSCT/transplantation care across outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate pre-treatment testing and donor evaluations.
• Secure insurance authorization and prepare pre-treatment documentation for insurers.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about transplantation/cellular therapy.
• Develop and update care protocols, orders, and patient education materials.
• Provide back-up support to BMT coordinators and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
