Responsibilities

Basic Function: Conduct and administer performances and rehearsals of the high school vocal department.

• Play piano for the vocal department during rehearsals and concerts.
• Prepare music in a variety of styles and genres.
• Maintain sensitivity to ensemble needs.
• Notify the director when piano tuning and maintenance are required.

Additional Essential Functions (for all DMPS positions)

• Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
• Assist with other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Required: Experience accompanying a vocal ensemble.
• Required: Ability to sight read vocal scores effectively.
• Desired: Degree in music with emphasis in vocal or piano performance.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa is required.
