Job summary

Easterseals of Chicagoland and Greater Rockford is seeking a Floating HS-EHS Teacher to cover classrooms, support teaching teams, and maintain director credentials as needed. The role requires flexibility across age groups and adherence to Head Start and NAEYC standards.

The position offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus, located at the Gilchrist Marchman Child Development Center in Chicago, IL. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s in ECE and related credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field with 30 hours in ECE.
• Gateway credentials Level 4 (ECE and Infant/toddler) within one year of hire.
• Gateway Director Credential Level II within one year of hire.
• Paraprofessional license required within 6 months of hire.
• 2 years of early childhood classroom experience.
• 1 year Head Start/Early Head Start preferred; diverse children experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage and support during PTO, plan time, and coaching.
• Complete screenings and assessments and maintain data in ChildPlus and Teaching Strategies GOLD.
• Maintain active supervision to ensure child safety at all times.
• Create a developmentally appropriate classroom environment and lesson plans.
• Support inclusion for children with disabilities and individualized IE P goals.
• Engage with parents, share screening results, and conduct follow-ups as needed.
• Attend required trainings and pursue ongoing professional development.
