Piper USD 203 is seeking a high school assistant bowling coach for the 2026-27 school year. The role supports the head coach, follows district guidelines, and promotes safe, sportsmanlike conduct during bowling activities.

The assistant will help with practice planning, attend meetings with parents, ensure equipment safety, and uphold district policies on health, eligibility, and transportation in alignment with KSHSAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill roles under the school's administration including fundraising, trips, money management, honoring contracts, credit card use and transportation rules.
  • Coordinate with the head coach to hold a pre-season meeting with parents covering expectations, sportsmanship guidelines, practice and game schedules, transportation, insurance, injuries (concussions), lettering, and communication with the school administration.
  • Teach and coach in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and follow the district's coaching principles.
  • Provide an environment that promotes good sportsmanship.
  • Monitor the safety of equipment, playing surfaces, and practice environments.
  • Maintain detailed practice plans and ensure athletes are never left unsupervised; provide repeated instruction on high-risk activities and adhere to lightning/heat guidelines.
  • Comply with all KSHSAA and district rules including eligibility, physicals, substance abuse policy and other guidelines.

Piper USD 203 is accepting applications for a high school assistantbowlingcoach for the2026-27 school year. Position open until filled.



  • Fulfill applicable roles and responsibilities as directed by the school's administration and head coach including, but not limited to, adherence to district guidelines for fundraising, trips, money management, honoring of contracts, credit card use and transportation (buses, rental vehicles and school/district owned vehicles)

  • Work with the head coach to conduct a pre-season meeting with parents in order to communicate all important information including, but not limited to, expectations/criteria for participation, sportsmanship guidelines, practice and game schedules, district guidelines for transportation, insurance, handling of injuries including concussions, parent-coach communication, substance abuse guidelines, lettering guidelines and the information in the aforementioned bullet. Provide this information to all participants and the school administration

  • Teach and coach in a positive and constructive manner

  • Maintain a professional attitude in all situations and adhere to the district's guiding principles for coaches

  • Provide an environment that promotes good sportsmanship

  • Monitor the safety of equipment, playing surfaces, and performance environments

  • Understand and implement the duties of any coach including, but not limited to, maintaining detailed practice plans, never leaving athletes unsupervised, providing detailed and repeated instruction with regards to the performance of high-risk activities, adhering to the district's lightning and hot weather guidelines, and the evaluation of injuries and lack of physical conditioning

  • Comply with all KSHSAA anddistrict rules and regulations including, but not limited to, participant eligibility, required physical examinations, district substance abuse policy, and other KSHSAA Handbook guidelines
