Calvert County Parks and Recreation is seeking a part-time swimming instructor to teach community members in a safe, controlled environment. You will develop lesson plans, set up equipment, and deliver instruction to participants of varying ages and skill levels.
The role emphasizes strong communication, adherence to water safety standards, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to individual needs. It is an hourly, nonexempt position at the Indoor Aquatic Center with ongoing opportunities.
Provide swimming instruction to the community in a safe and controlled environment.
Develops and prepares lesson plans tailored to the skill levels and needs of participants.
Sets up and organizes equipment necessary for the facilitation of lessons.
Delivers effective swimming instruction to students of various ages and skill levels.
Monitors and maintains the safety of all participants throughout lessons.
Conducts evaluations and provide feedback to students and parents regarding progress.
Performs additional tasks as assigned, which may include assisting with special events, maintaining records, and participating in in-service training.
Performs related work as required.

Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate or American Red Cross Basic Swim Instructor Certificate.
Must be 18 years of age or have work permit.
Subject to background investigation.
