HRIS & Payroll Analyst

Overview
The HRIS & Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll, maintenance of employee data, administration of HRIS transactions, reporting, and providing support to employees regarding HR and payroll-related questions. This position serves as the subject matter expert for the Paycom system, ensuring data integrity, process efficiency, system optimization, and successful implementation of system enhancements and upgrades. The HRIS & Payroll Analyst works closely with Human Resources, Finance, managers, and employees to support workforce administration and payroll operations.
Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees.
- Review payroll data for completeness and accuracy prior to payroll submission.
- Audit payroll transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and support payroll audits.
HRIS Administration
- Maintain employee records within Paycom and ensure data integrity.
- Process personnel changes including:
- New hires
- Promotions
- Pay increases
- Transfers
- Terminations
- Organizational changes
- Position changes
- Other employee status updates
- Enter and maintain employee demographic and employment information.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolutions with Paycom support as needed.
- Serve as the primary Paycom system administrator and subject matter expert.
Onboarding & Employee Administration
- Enter all new hire information into the HRIS system.
- Monitor and ensure completion of all required onboarding and new hire documentation.
- Verify and maintain employee records throughout the employment lifecycle.
- Assist managers and employees with HRIS self-service functions.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual HR and payroll reports.
- Generate ad hoc reports and workforce analytics as requested by management.
- Conduct data audits to ensure accuracy and consistency of HR information.
- Analyze workforce and payroll trends and provide insights when requested.
- Lead implementation, testing, and deployment of Paycom upgrades, enhancements, and new modules.
- Develop and maintain HRIS procedures, documentation, and training materials.
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and data accuracy.
- Participate in HR technology projects and system integrations.
Employee Support
- Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, timekeeping, HR policies, and HRIS self-service functionality.
- Provide excellent customer service and timely issue resolution.
- Assist employees in navigating Paycom and completing required workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of payroll and HRIS administration experience preferred.
- Experience processing multi-state payroll preferred.
- Experience with Paycom strongly preferred.
- Experience maintaining employee data and HR records.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and HR administration.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, preferably Paycom.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
