The role requires at least three years of HRAC/HVAC/R experience, EPA 608/609 certs, and Liebert HRAC certification, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum three (3) years demonstrated HRAC/HVAC/R experience.
• EPA 608 or EPA 609 certification at contract start.
• Manufacturer-recognized certification or formal training in Vertiv Liebert HVAC/HRAC systems.
• Knowledge of tools, test equipment, and procedures for HVAC/R troubleshooting.

• Troubleshoots a variety of HVAC/R systems including automotive, residential, commercial, industrial, and support equipment.
• Installs, modifies, overhauls, repairs, and maintains cooling and heating systems and fuel equipment.
• Maintains purpose-built environmental control units for cooling, heating, and air quality.
• Reads and interprets wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical orders.
• Performs electrical work related to HVAC/R and DDC systems.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and calibration support.
• Handles refrigerant charging, recovery, and EPA-compliant recycling.
• Uses hand/power tools and leak detection equipment for inspection and repair.
• Documents work performed and materials used per contract and customer processes.
• Adheres to safe work practices and maintains a clean work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Overview:

The HRAC Mechanic supports the CCoE Maintenance Support contract by troubleshooting, installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC/R systems, refrigeration systems, heating and cooling equipment, and purpose-built environmental control units. The position performs preventive maintenance and repairs in accordance with applicable technical manuals, work orders, safety requirements, EPA regulations, and contract requirements.

Support Hours:

Applicant shall be available during core work hours as established the Government customer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoots a variety of HVAC/R systems, to include automotive, residential-style, commercial, industrial, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, and supporting equipment with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring sound judgment to locate malfunctions.
• Installs, modifies, overhauls, repairs, and maintains a variety of cooling and heating systems and single or multiple fuel equipment.
• Installs, repairs, and maintains purpose-built environmental control units designed to maintain cooling, heating, humidification/dehumidification, and air quality.
• Reads and interprets electrical/electronic wiring diagrams, schematics, technical orders, blueprints, drawings, electrical/plumbing codes, and work orders.
• Performs essential and incidental electrical work related to the maintenance and operation of HVAC/R and Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems and electronic control systems, to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and assistance with calibration.
• Charges, recovers, and recycles refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations without exception.
• Uses hand tools, power tools, gauges, meters, leak detection equipment, and other specialized tools required to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/R systems.
• Documents work performed, parts used, maintenance status, and follow-up requirements in accordance with contract, company, and customer processes.
• Conforms to all safe work practices and procedures and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements/Education:

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• Minimum three (3) years demonstrated HRAC/HVAC/R experience.
• EPA 608 or EPA 609 certification at contract start.
• Possess and maintain current manufacturer-recognized certification or documented formal training in the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Vertiv Liebert Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)/High Reliability Air Conditioning (HRAC) systems.
• Knowledge of specialized tools, test equipment, and procedures used to perform HVAC/R troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, drawings, electrical/plumbing codes, and work orders.
• Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a military driver's license within 30 days if required for contract performance.
• Must be able to meet installation access and background screening requirements applicable to the work location.
• Able to pass an annual physical examination if required by company or contract policy.
