Job summary

Bexar County is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Technician to administer HR policies, handle FMLA and workers’ compensation matters, and maintain comprehensive employee records. The role involves coordinating with various offices, performing background checks, and generating HR reports to support salary surveys and staffing decisions.

The position requires an associate’s degree in HR or related field with HR experience, plus strong data management, communication, and office software

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources or closely related field with two years’ HR experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of personnel policies and employment legislation.
  • Knowledge of payroll and timekeeping practices.
  • Proficiency with word processing and database software; able to prepare reports.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with administration of HR policies and procedures.
  • Process workers’ compensation, FMLA requests and maintain proper files.
  • Coordinate with Auditor’s Office on HR issues and perform background checks.
  • Prepare HR reports and verifications; assist in salary surveys.
  • Maintain personnel files, payroll records and evaluation data.
  • Provide customer service to employees and general public regarding HR matters.
