Job summary

P&E Constructors is seeking an HR Technician to support HR operations in a fast-paced construction environment. The role focuses on employee data entry, personnel changes, record accuracy, onboarding assistance, and reporting across HRIS and payroll systems.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of administrative/HR experience, strong detail orientation, and excellent communication. Up to 25% travel to project sites may be required; overtime including evenings/weekends may be needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of administrative, HR, payroll, data entry, or related experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with high volumes of data and employee transactions.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, based on operational and business demands.
  • Experience working with spreadsheets, employee databases, or ERP/HRIS systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process employee personnel changes.
  • Maintain and update employee records within HRIS, payroll, ATS, and related systems.
  • Review submitted personnel requests for completeness and accuracy prior to processing.
  • Audit employee information and identify discrepancies, missing information, or data inconsistencies.
  • Maintain spreadsheets, trackers, logs, and reporting tools related to employee changes and HR operations.
  • Assist with onboarding and employee documentation processing as needed.
  • Support HR and Payroll teams with employee record corrections and reporting requests.
  • Ensure personnel actions are processed timely and in accordance with company procedures and deadlines.
  • Communicate professionally with managers, employees, payroll, recruiting, and HR leadership regarding employee changes and required documentation.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information.
  • Assist with special projects, audits, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

P&E Constructors is an employee-owned (ESOP) mechanical and electrical construction firm executing large capital projects with deep roots in the industrial construction sector. Position Overview

The HR Technici an is responsible for supporting Human Resources operations in a fast-paced construction environment. This role will focus heavily on employee data entry, personnel change processing, spreadsheet management, record accuracy, and administrative HR support. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment, and strong professional communication skills. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate employee records and supporting HR operational processes across the organization. The position may require up to 25% travel to project sites, offices, or other company locations to support HR operations, onboarding activities, training, audits, and workforce support initiatives. Additionally, the ability to work overtime, including evenings and weekends as business needs require, is expected.

  • The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

  • Salary Range: $21.54 - $31.82 per hour
