Job description

Overview

The HR Systems (HRIS) Senior Analyst plays a critical role in enabling a scalable, compliant, and high‑performing HR technology ecosystem, with a primary focus on Benefits. This role partners closely with Benefits, HR, and IT leaders to optimize business processes, enhance system capabilities, and ensure data integrity across enterprise HR platforms.

Acting as a technical subject‑matter expert, the Senior Analyst drives system configuration, testing, and integrations, as well as continuous improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and the overall employee experience. The role also supports ongoing operations while contributing to long‑term HR technology strategy, roadmap planning, and enterprise initiatives.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Workday Benefits, including configuration, controls, integrations, reporting, and ongoing operational support.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise HR systems (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle, ADP, Kronos/UKG) within complex or large‑scale environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience supporting HR functions such as core HR, benefits, timekeeping, and/or payroll within a large, complex organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR processes, benefits, and related terminology.
  • Experience with reporting and analytical tools such as Excel, Access, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, or joint ventures from an HR systems perspective.
  • Hands‑on involvement in large‑scale implementations, upgrades, or transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with Workday HCM, Security, Business Processes, Configuration, and Integrations; exposure to additional Workday modules (e.g., Canada Payroll, Global Payroll, U.S. Benefits) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently within defined guidelines while effectively escalating risks and presenting solution options for complex issues.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical and functional subject matter expert for Workday Benefits, supporting day‑to‑day operations and continuous improvement.
  • Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of HR system processes, including configuration, releases, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Timekeeping, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable system solutions.
  • Lead and support system upgrades, patches, enhancements, integrations, and data flows across the HR ecosystem.
  • Act as an administrator for HRIS platforms, troubleshooting issues and coordinating resolutions with vendors as needed.
  • Ensure data accuracy, system security, and audit compliance through established controls and quality assurance processes.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and best practices.
  • Create and maintain complex reports, queries, and analytics to support business decision‑making.
  • Manage and prioritize work through ServiceNow tickets, escalations, and project commitments, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
  • Support project planning, milestone tracking, scope management, and go‑live readiness, including post‑implementation support and training.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve system functionality, efficiency, and end‑user experience while balancing cost, risk, and maintainability.
