Job summary

Cable’s Roofing in Tyler, TX is seeking an experienced Human Resources Supervisor to support the day‑to‑day HR needs of a growing small business, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, training, compliance, and general HR administration.

The right candidate will be organized, discreet, and able to work closely with both employees and leadership, keeping HR processes consistent and well documented while upholding high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
• At least two years of hands‑on Human Resources experience
• Experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and HR administration
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution skills
• Ability to remain professional and composed during difficult employee situations
• Strong attention to detail and documentation
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
• Working knowledge of federal and Texas employment laws and regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR-related software
• Experience working with a PEO, HRIS, or recruiting platform is a plus
• Legal, compliance, or construction‑industry experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Recruiting, interviewing, and assisting with hiring for open positions; partner with managers to identify staffing needs
• Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including drug testing and background checks
• Manage onboarding process and orientation for new hires
• Maintain accurate employee records, personnel documentation, acknowledgements, and required HR records
• Track and coordinate required employee training, including safety, handbook acknowledgements, anti-harassment training, and certifications
• Assist with benefits questions, enrollment, and leave requests; coordinate with PEO and providers
• Assist leadership with employee concerns, performance issues, investigations, and terminations
• Provide guidance to managers on employee-related matters while maintaining confidentiality
• Help ensure company policies and procedures are applied consistently
• Stay informed on employment law changes and HR best practices
• Assist with general office, administrative, legal, and compliance duties as needed
