Job summary

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) seeks a strategic Human Resources Director (Director III) to lead HR operations from its Austin office. You will shape the department's vision, set goals aligned with the agency mission, and develop policies that support Texans and state priorities.

Qualifications

Six years of full-time experience in the oversight and direction of an agency program or in strategic planning and policy development and implementation.
Three years of administrative management or supervisory experience.
Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.

Responsibilities

Provide direction for HR operations, establish the departmental direction, and set goals aligned with agency objectives.
Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines to support the agency’s long-term mission.
Drive the Reimagine HR approach using predictive analytics to improve staffing and reduce turnover.
Lead, mentor, and develop HR staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team.
Ensure compliance with Texas state employment laws and federal regulations across HR activities.
Manage budgets and coordinate program activities.
