Job summary

Veritas HHS seeks a HR Specialist for the 6th Judicial District Child Support Services in Knoxville, TN. This full-time, in-person position supports the Knoxville office and reports to the VP of Human Resources and the Memphis program manager.

The role handles recruiting, onboarding, employee communications, document management, and policy adherence, with a focus on accurate record-keeping and timely HR processes.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in HR or related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in HR administrator or administrative support role.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and basic PC skills.
• Excellent communication skills and strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Communicate HR document changes to employees (e.g., employee handbook).
• Provide recruiting support with job postings and applicant tracking system maintenance.
• Guide management on employee matters using the Veritas HHS Progressive Discipline Process.
• Ensure all employee performance discussions are documented and reviewed by the VP of HR.
• Serve as the point of contact for all people-related matters.
• Process new hires, including onboarding and electronic file maintenance.
• Process terminations following supervisor guidance.
• Create and facilitate the hiring process from candidate presentation to onboarding.
• Approve filling of open positions in collaboration with the VP of HR.

Starting salary: $48,000/year

About the Position

The HR Specialist will support the Human Resource function within the Knoxville office. This position will report to the Vice President of Human Resource, and the Program Manager of the Memphis, TN office.

Here are some of the areas this position will support:

• Will handle communicating to employees any changes to HR documents such as the employee handbook.
• Provide recruiting support with job postings and maintenance of the applicant tracking system.
• Guides management on all employee related matters and utilizes the Veritas HHS Progressive Discipline Process.
• Ensures that every employee performance discussion is documented and reviewed by the VP of HR for Veritas HHS.
• Will be the point of contact for all people related matters.
• Processing new hires within the guidelines which includes the onboarding process as well as the electronic employee file maintenance.
• Process terminations within the guidelines upon notification from the supervisor.
• Will create and facilitate the hiring process from presenting candidates, interviews, selection, and onboarding.
• In conjunction with the VP of HR for Veritas HHS, approve the filling of all open positions.

Requirements

• Four-year Degree in Human Resource, or related field Preferred.
• A minimum of two-years’ experience in an HR Administrator or Administrative Support position.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and operating a personal computer.
• Highly skilled communicator.
• Highly organized with the ability to effectively prioritize assigned tasks.
