DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking an HR Specialist based in our Atlanta, GA Distribution Center. This role partners with HR leadership to handle employee relations, HR processes, and analytics to support the teammate lifecycle.

The position emphasizes employee relations, system procedures, onboarding support, payroll oversight, and workforce planning. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential, with a schedule Monday–Thursday and Friday partial day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 1-3 years HR experience, with direct exposure to employee relations preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving with data-driven judgment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first-line HR resource for teammates and leaders within the Distribution Center.
• Support Employee Relations investigations, documentation, and resolution with the HRBP Sr Manager.
• Guide leaders on performance management, attendance, and policy interpretation.
• Assist in developing and executing teammate engagement and retention strategies.

The HR Specialist role is based at our Atlanta, GA Distribution Centerand serves as a key partner to the HRBPSr Manager and DC leadership team. This position acts as a subject matter expert for HR processes, systems, and daytoday teammate support, with a strong emphasis on Employee Relations, which will be a primary responsibility. The role supports HR analytics, job description updates, employee relations case management, and overall teammate lifecycle initiatives within the Distribution Center. Required Schedule:

• Monday - Thursday 12:30 PM - 9:30 PM
• Fridays - 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

• Serve as a firstline resource for teammate and leader HR questions and concerns within the Distribution Center.
• Support Employee Relations investigations, documentation, and resolution in partnership with the HRBP Sr Manager.
• Provide guidance to leaders on performance management, corrective action, attendance, and policy interpretation.
• Assist in developing and executing teammate engagement and retention strategies.
• Partner with leadership to proactively identify ER trends and mitigate risk.

HR Operations & Systems

• Facilitate HR processes and system procedures, including offer preparation, onboarding support, payroll oversight, and unemployment claims.
• Act as a subject matter expert in company HR systems (HRM), support system enhancements, and assist with training and onboarding of new HR teammates.
• Develop, maintain, and update HR templates, SOPs, and documentation; ensure updates are communicated clearly and consistently.
• Guide and train business leaders on HR policies, processes, and compliance requirements.

Analytics & Talent Support

• Review HR dashboards and reports to identify trends, exceptions, and opportunities; partner with leaders to drive action.
• Support performance review calibrations, talent discussions, and ongoing workforce planning.
• Participate in special HR projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 1-3 years of relevant HR experience, with direct exposure to employee relationsstrongly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to apply datadriven and thoughtful judgment.
• Proven ability to balance business needs with empathy, utilizing active listening, critical thinking, and sound decisionmaking.
