Job summary

The City of Menifee is seeking an energetic HR professional to support risk management activities within the Human Resources team. You will serve as the go-to expert for Workers' Compensation, claims processing, and leave administration, helping protect employees and the organization.

This role requires collaboration with HR staff and city departments, strong attention to detail, and the ability to navigate regulatory requirements such as CFRA, FMLA, and PDL while maintaining accurate HRIS data.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by college coursework in human resources or public administration.
• Two years of increasingly responsible experience in various human resources functions, including recruitments, benefits, leave administration, payroll programs, and workers' compensation.

Responsibilities

• Workers' Compensation Administration: process, manage, and maintain claims with focus on compliance.
• Claims Administration: support workers' compensation and general liability programs with third‑party administrators.
• Leave Compliance: coordinate complex, regulated employee leave programs (FMLA, CFRA, PDL).
• Safety & Wellness: support safety initiatives and wellness programs.
• HRIS & Admin: maintain databases, track evaluations, process benefit invoices, provide service to staff and vendors.
• Injury & Illness Prevention Program: maintain and implement the city’s IIPP; investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Departmental risk assessments: partner with departments to identify risks and mitigate liabilities.
