Title: HR Recruiter & Training Assistant

Position Summary

The HR Recruiter & Training Assistant is responsible for supporting the organization's talent acquisition, onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives. This role partners closely with hiring managers and Human Resources to attract, recruit, and onboard qualified candidates while assisting with the coordination, administration, and documentation of employee training programs.

Essential Job Functions
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Manage the recruitment process for hourly, salaried, and operational positions.
  • Create and post job advertisements on job boards, company websites, social media platforms, and other recruitment channels.
  • Source candidates through online databases, referrals, community partnerships, career fairs, and networking events.
  • Review resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
  • Conduct initial phone screens and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
  • Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) records and candidate communications.
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, reference checks, and drug screenings.
  • Prepare and extend employment offers in partnership with HR leadership.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future staffing needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Onboarding & Employee Integration
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding activities.
  • Prepare onboarding packets, employment documents, and orientation materials.
  • Conduct or assist with new employee orientation programs.
  • Collaborate with department managers, IT, and other teams to ensure new hires have necessary equipment, access, and resources.
  • Monitor onboarding progress and ensure required documentation is completed and maintained.
  • Support employee engagement and retention initiatives during the onboarding process.
Training & Development Support
  • Assist with the coordination and administration of employee training programs.
  • Schedule training sessions, reserve meeting rooms, and communicate training details to participants.
  • Maintain employee training records and ensure accurate documentation of completed training.
  • Update Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training databases.
  • Assist in the development, formatting, and distribution of training materials, presentations, SOPs, and job aids.
  • Track training compliance requirements and completion rates.
  • Prepare reports related to employee training, certifications, and development activities.
  • Support training audits and regulatory compliance reviews.
  • Assist with employee development programs and organizational learning initiatives.
HR Administration
  • Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Assist with HR reporting, data entry, and recordkeeping activities.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding recruiting, onboarding, and training processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department as needed.

  • Knowledge of employment practices, recruitment processes, and training administration.
Education
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
  • Two to five years of experience in recruiting, onboarding, training coordination, or human resources support.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, or other fast-paced operational environments preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, and LMS platforms preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or related HR certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Ability to move throughout office and operational environments as needed.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to attend recruiting events, training sessions, and company functions.
