Job summary

Safe Harbor Home Care in San Diego is seeking a Compliance & Payroll Assistant to join our team. This developmental role offers hands-on training across HR, compliance, recruiting, payroll, and home care operations, with mentorship from our HR & Payroll Manager.

You'll gain exposure to multiple facets of healthcare administration while developing strong organizational and data-entry skills in a supportive, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Administrative Support: Maintain and organize employee and company records in electronic and paper formats; data entry, scanning, filing, document management; answer calls and provide professional customer service; route communications to appropriate team members; assist with general administrative tasks.
• Human Resources & Compliance: Maintain accurate employee records; monitor caregiver compliance requirements including Home Care Aide registration, TB testing, training completion, driver's license verification, auto insurance documentation, certifications; track expiration dates and remind for required documentation; assist with file audits and reassessments; support compliance initiatives.
• Recruiting & Onboarding: Communicate with applicants and newly hired caregivers; assist with onboarding and new hire paperwork; help navigate onboarding requirements and systems; maintain recruiting and applicant records; prepare badges and packets; coordinate mailing of documents; support recruiting efforts.
• Payroll Support: Assist with payroll administration and related documentation; review caregiver pay information and mileage; track alternate pay rates and changes; support payroll processing and reporting; coordinate with payroll and admin teams to ensure accuracy.
• Caregiver Support: Provide support regarding company policies and systems; answer employment questions; assist with forms and training requirements; help ensure a positive employee experience.
• Team Collaboration: Support HR, Recruiting, Payroll, Operations and Leadership; participate in projects and process improvements; maintain confidentiality of employee, client, payroll, financial, and medical information; perform other duties as assigned.
