Job summary

Fairfax County Government's Land Development Services (LDS) seeks a Human Resource Generalist I to support payroll operations, recruitment, certification management, HR programs, and customer service. The role involves supervising payroll staff, managing full-cycle recruitment, overseeing certification requirements, and preparing HR analytics using FOCUS, PEAQ, and related systems.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in human resource management, public administration, or a related field.
Four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to Administrative Assistant IV or higher.
The appointee will complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

Responsibilities

Supervise LDS payroll staff and ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll processing.
Manage full-cycle recruitment for LDS from requisition through candidate selection.
Oversee LDS certification requirements, track compliance, maintain documentation, and communicate updates to staff and supervisors.
Prepare HR analytics, vacancy reports, and other data using FOCUS, PEAQ, Smartsheet, and related systems.
Provide timely HR support via in-person, phone, and virtual channels.
