Job summary

Landon School, located in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support payroll, benefits, records, onboarding, background screenings, and more. Reporting to the Director of HR, this full-time 12-month position sits in the Business Office team and focuses on efficient, compliant HR operations.

The role requires 3–5 years of HR experience, proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems, and strong Excel skills; Paylocity experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in human resources, payroll, benefits administration, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing and employment regulations.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Payroll administration for semi-monthly payrolls through Paylocity.
• Benefits administration including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA, retirement, housing, tuition remission, and other school benefits.
• Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in accordance with laws and school policies.
• Recruitment support: create job descriptions, advertise, schedule interviews, and communicate with candidates.
• Coordinate onboarding/offboarding and HR reporting; assist with audits and analytics.
